App Privacy Policy

For the TrackPost mobile app (iOS & Android) · Last updated June 2026

This policy explains how the TrackPost mobile app handles your information. It is separate from the website privacy policy. TrackPost is an independent parcel tracker for India Post and major Indian couriers. No account or sign-in is required, and the app does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.

Information the app handles

Tracking numbers. The tracking numbers and parcels you add are stored locally on your device. They are sent to our servers only to fetch the latest status from the relevant courier, and are not used to identify you. Deleting a parcel, or uninstalling the app, removes them from your device.

Camera. With your permission, the camera is used only to scan a tracking-number barcode so you don't have to type it. Camera images are processed on-device for scanning and are never stored or uploaded. You can always enter the number manually instead.

Notifications. If you enable parcel notifications, the app periodically checks your saved parcels in the background and notifies you when a status changes. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.

Location. The app itself does not request or use your device location. Our advertising partner, Google AdMob, may infer your approximate (coarse) location from your IP address to serve and measure ads — it does not access precise GPS location.

Third-party services

Advertising — Google AdMob. The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / Advertising ID on Android), IP address, approximate (coarse) location, and app-usage data, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. With your permission, this identifier may be used to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites to show you more relevant ads. On iOS we ask for this the first time you open the app through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by resetting your Advertising ID on Android.

Analytics — PostHog. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened and how features perform) so we can improve it. This may include pseudonymous device and usage data. It is not used to identify you personally and is not sold. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Crash & error reporting — Sentry. To keep the app stable, we collect diagnostic crash reports (such as error type, device model, and OS version) through Sentry when the app encounters a problem. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Courier partners. Tracking lookups are forwarded to the relevant courier's tracking system to retrieve status. We are an independent platform and are not affiliated with any courier.

Data sharing, retention & your choices

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers named above (Google AdMob, PostHog and Sentry), and we require each of them to protect it to a standard at least equivalent to this policy. Parcels and tracking numbers live only on your device — delete a parcel or uninstall the app to remove them, and you can withdraw the camera and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. To request deletion of any data, or to ask a privacy question, contact us at the email below.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
